The explicit aim of the NARVA process developments was to transfer knowledge acquired from the latest glass processing techniques and production of fluorescent lamps to the manufacture of vacuum tubes. This relates in particular to pipe production in the company’s own glassworks, the coating technologies, production of vacuum tubes, evacuation processes and logistics and operational technologies.
The vertical integration was optimally designed to avoid difficult and expensive packaging and transport processes. Also the fins itself (absorber sheets, absorber pipe, glass-metal connection) are produced at NARVA. This optimal vertical integration is necessary to fulfil customer requirements.
